Description

This guitar comes from the very last batch of three guitars to have ever been built by Miguel Rodriguez. The instruments were started by the youngest member of the family, Pepe Rodriguez in 1996 but after he fell ill (and passed away the same year), the family retained these instruments and eventually they would be completed by Miguel Jr. Sadly, after finishing these 3 guitars, Miguel fell ill himself and passed away in 1998. Of the 3 guitars, the Rodriguez family kept one. The other two were sold to Pepe Romero and GSI purchased this guitar, the third in 1998. In an accompanying letter from Pepe Romero to GSI (which is included with this guitar) written in 1999 about the two instruments the Rodriguez family sold, Pepe states that "Both guitars are equally extraordinary, as Miguel Rodriguez seemed to know that they would be his last instruments. I really believe that they are in the same class as my prized instrument, 'La Wonderful'. I played them both in concert in Barcelona during September of 1998. I intend to keep my 1996 guitar for future concerts and recordings." Well, not much more to be said about this guitar other than that it has been kept in pristine condition and played with great care. Very desirable for its quality (and quantity) of sound, superb playability and unmatched aesthetic beauty – collector and performer alike will find this to be an extremely exciting instrument to own and play - one of (if not THE) last instruments from this historical workshop.
